 Title:
MODELO SIMPLIFICADO DE TROCADORES DE CALOR TUBO CAPILAR - LINHA DE SUCÇÃO

Summary :
THE REFRIGERANT FLOW THROUGH CAPILLARY TUBES MAY BE CHARACTERISED BY TWO DISTINCT REGIONS: I) A LIQUID FLOW REGION II) AND A TWO PHASE FLOW REGION. THE FIRST ONE TAKES PLACE WHEN THE FLUID IS SUB-COOLED AT THE INLET OF THE CAPILLARY TUBE. IN THIS CASE, THE PRESSURE DROP IS EXCLUSIVELY BY FRICTION. IN THE SECOND REGION, THE PRESSURE DROP OCCURS MAINLY BY FLUID ACCELERATION. AS THE PRESSURE DROP IS VERY HIGH AT THE TWO PHASE FLOW REGION, THE LIQUID LENGTH IS GENERALLY MUCH LARGER THAN THE TWO-PHASE ONE. IN MANY CASES, WHEN THE SUB-COOLING TAKES PLACE, THE LIQUID FLOW LENGTH VARIES FROM 75 TO 97% OF THE TOTAL TUBE LENGTH.BASED ON THIS FACT, A MODEL TO COMPUTE MASS FLOW RATE AND/OR CAPILLARY LENGTH IS PROPOSED. THIS MODEL IS BASED ONLY ON THE LIQUID FLOW REGION. THE MAIN ADVANTAGE OF THE MODEL IS ITS SIMPLICITY. COMPARISONS WITH EXPERIMENTAL AND NUMERICAL DATA AVAILABLE IN THE LITERATURE ARE PRESENTED AND A RESOANABLE LEVEL OF AGREEMENT IS ACHIEVED.
