Abstract
The present work is based on the presentation of relevant concepts for the modeling of a straight conductor cable stretched through the Finite Element Method, which extracts the frequencies and modes of vibration. Conductive cables are prone to the appearance of failures, these cause significant losses in commercial and daily activities, whether due to fatigue or other types, causing the interruption of electrical energy. These damages are induced by vibrations, whether from wind, conductor gallop, or track oscillations, which amplify stresses on accessory structures and compromise the system. To reduce damage, dampers - spacers are used, the purpose of which is presented in this study. Studies show that geographic factors: climate, vegetation, and relief directly interfere in the vibration phenomena, with the Amazon region being a favorable place for wind vibrations. In this study, numerical analyzes were performed with two types of elements, and additional analyzes with the variation of the cable's geometric properties, to evaluate the behavior of natural frequencies. Good agreements were observed between the analytical data and the numerical simulations for the two elements, with the LINK 8 element being more susceptible to model validation.
