Abstract
In this work, the behavior of particles inside a thermochemical reactor was studied with the aim of developing a grid that maximized the movement and homogeneization of the fluidized bed of this reactor. The reactor is used for the thermochemical degradation of biomass and production of fuel, synthesis gas, which consists of a multiphase mixture of gas and suspended particles. Theses particles must remain inside the reactor until all gasifiable matter undergoes thmechemichal degradation, and the remaining particles are filtered by cyclones located inside the reactor, a numerical study was carried out using the ANSYS® Fluent software, considering the DPM (Discrete Phase Model) multiphase model and the k-omega SST turbulence model. The results obtained demonstrated a satisfactory behavior of the particles since it was verified the absence of particle accumulation in the grid and at the edges of the device, proving the effectiveness of the filtering cyclones inside the reactor.
