 Title:
OBJECT ORIENTED SIMULATION OF PNEUMATIC CONVEYING-APLICATION TO A TURBULENT FLOW WITH TWO-DIRECTIONAL COUPLING AND PARTICLE-PARTICLE INTERACTION

Summary :
IN THIS WORK A MODEL IS PROPOSED FOR THE INVESTIGATION OF THE AERODYNAMIC PHENOMENA PRESENTED IN A PNEUMATIC CONVEYING. THE OBJECT-ORIENTED SIMULATION (SOO) IS APPLIED TO THE MODEL, WHICH IS DISCRETE, DETERMINISTIC AND TRANSIENT FOR THE PARTICLE PHASE. THE FLUID PHASE IS MODELED SEPARATED FROM THE PARTICLE PHASE AND THE FLOW PROPERTIES WERE CONSIDERED TWO-DIMENSIONAL. THE COUPLING OF THE DYNAMIC EFFECTS BETWEEN SOLID AND FLUID PHASES IS DONE BY TWO-DIRECTIONAL INTERACTION, AS THE DRAG FORCE EXERTED ON THE PARTICLES AND THE MOMENTUM GENERATION ON THE FLUID PHASE. THE MODEL INCLUDES THE TWO-DIRECTIONAL COUPLING EFFECTS AND THE THREE-DIMENSIONAL MOVEMENT OF THE PARTICLES. THE PARTICLE-PARTICLE INTERACTIONS ARE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT BY THE SIMULATION OF THE COLLISIONS BETWEEN THEM AND THE TUBE WALL. THE MODEL CAN ALSO BE APPLIED TO POLYDISPERSED MIXTURES, DUE TO THE OBJECT-ORIENTED PROPERTIES. THE SOO TECHNIQUE ALLOWS TO OBTAIN DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT THE PNEUMATIC CONVEYING, WHICH ARE NOT AVAILABLE BY OTHER MODELING TECHNIQUES. KEY-WORDS: PNEUMATIC CONVEYING, SIMULATION, MODELING, OBJECT ORIENTED SIMULATION
