STUDY OF PLATE ELEMENTS APPLIED TO COMPOSITE MATERIALS
 
Summary :
ABSTRACT. THE ANALYTICAL RESULTS ARE COMPARED WITH FINITE ELEMENTS BASED ON THE THREE-DIMENSIONAL MECHANICS OF CONTINUOUS, DKT (DISCRETE KIRCHHOFF TRIANGLE) AND DST (DISCRETE SHEAR TRIANGLE) ELEMENTS. IMPORTANT ASPECTS RELATED TO TYPE OF STRUCTURES BUILT WITH COMPOSITE MATERIALS, SUCH AS TRANSVERSAL SHEAR DEFORMATION AND DIFFERENT PROPERTIES ALONG THE THICKNESS, ARE DISCUSSED. IN THE DKT AND DST ELEMENTS THE THEORY OF EQUIVALENT LAYER IS USED IN THE ANALYSIS OF COMPOSITE MATERIALS. OTHER FINITE ELEMENTS USED IN THIS ANALYSIS TAKING ACCOUNT THE MATERIAL MULTILAYERS. ONLY THE DST ELEMENT CONSIDER THE EFFECT OF TRANSVERSAL SHEAR, WITCH IS OF THE FUNDAMENTAL IMPORTANT TO LAMINATE MATERIALS.
