Abstract
The world class manufacturing methodology (WCM) is an integrated management system applied in several companies in order to achieve operational excellence in the entire production system, applying different steps and methods in each area of the manufacturing sector. Formed by 10 technical pillars divided into different application areas, each technical pillar consisting of several steps structured by different work tools, whose actions can be classified into: reactive, preventive and proactive. The Professional Maintenance pillar is the fifth technical pillar of this methodology, consisting of seven steps that aim at the continuous improvement of the machinery, consequently increasing the reliability of the equipment and maximizing the useful life of the components. This study aims to present the application of this methodology in an automatic supply system for a 2500 ton stamping press belonging to an industry responsible for stamping parts for the automotive sector. The tools related to the professional maintenance pillar were applied until step six of the proactive phase on the machine signaled by the cost breakdown pillar, with the evolution of each step in its reactive, preventive and proactive phases being demonstrated.
