Abstract
With the increase in energy demand and the growing concern about the availability of natural resources, researches have emerged related to areas with higher energy demand. In view of this, the importance and focus on issues related to improving energy efficiency in buildings, and passive solutions for inefficient architectural projects in heating or cooling, have grown in recent years. Thus, to save energy, it became necessary to incorporate passive solutions to control the temperature inside the buildings. Among them, it is possible to highlight the soil-air heat exchanger (SAHE), a system that uses the soil as a heat exchanger to heat or cool an environment. In this context, this work aims to build a soil-air heat exchanger for future use in experiments. The system consists of PVC pipes, galvanized steel pipes, thermal insulation and fan. The system was set up on the premises of the Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR), next to Block J1 and beside it. The system will allow the study of the effect of air velocity on heat exchange, the investigation of air temperatures in the system and in the air intake room.
