Abstract
The importance of studying vibrations is especially related to the determination of their effects on the performance and safety of structures and mechanical systems, for their control. Considering that several structures are formed by plates, this work has as main objective the development of a numerical model that adequately represents the analysis of the vibrations of a rectangular plate simply supported on its four edges and that can be used later as a reference for the execution of an experimental model. From the analytical evaluation of the mechanics of the plate, considering the plate submitted to the mentioned boundary conditions, a program was created in the MATLAB® software for the calculation of the natural frequencies and for the graphic visualization of the vibration modes and their behavior in the face of excitations external. Numerical analysis, in turn, was performed through the implementation of a model via the Finite Element Method in the ANSYS® software in order to provide the results of interest. The proposed numerical model was considered valid for all evaluated study parameters.
